Sunday Sessions 1

This was the first mix I recorded in a series of “Sunday Sessions” during the pandemic lockdown while we wondered if we’d ever be allowed on dance floors again but music gave me hope. This mix is a bit dark - ambient and melodic techno mostly.

This is a recording of the first set I played at the inaugural SOURCE event at BAR A BAR, our techno night in East London in March 2018. It was the closing set and presents a deep melodic descent. Mainly techno. Some people told me that they didn’t mean to stay so late but they couldn’t leave the dance floor because of the music and that meant a lot.

The Onyx Space

There used to be a beautiful bar in the basement of Blakes, a boutique hotel in South Kensington and it reminded me of an old black lacquered Chinese jewellery box belonging to my mother.The space had a minimalist oriental vibe and was very dark with hints of gold. I was in talks with the manager about playing there for a while. It never happened in the end but this mix was very much inspired by and designed for that space.
